January Sunset

What a great start to January! We have had a world record month of beautiful dog walks and sunsets. Even though it’s dark and cold half the time, I don’t mind when it’s clear and crisp outside.

November, you were good to me. Great food, friends, a beautiful winter wedding, and a great vacation up to Alaska for Thanksgiving…Here’s what the month looked like:Seattle Sunset

Above is the view from the Sorrento Hotel from my very missed and beloved city of Seattle. The weather of course had been really crappy in the days leading up to this, but we had the most perfect day for my friend Ursula’s wedding, and this sunset proves it! Seattle, you win. Continue reading →

Great Portland Happy Hour!

The Waffle Croque Monsier was insanely creative and delicious.

Waffle Croque Monsieur served with Red Pepper Jelly

The Salumi, Butter, Cornichons plate, however, was B-O-R-I-N-G.

The boring plate for the evening

Tons of wine taps!

I think this was the most wine taps I have ever seen in a restaurant. Irving St. Kitchen definitely gets my vote for a great atmosphere.

giant ice cube in whiskey (comes with a PBR tall boy during happy hour!)

It also gets my vote for giant ice cubes! Or as Jordan would say, “whiskey on the rock.”

Edamame Puree

Truffle Parmesan Fries. I still wanted ketchup with them. Sacrilidge, probably.

And a wedge salad, of course, to even out all the other sinful things. Although I’d have to say Rogue Bleu Cheese is pretty sinful.
