Ginger Steak Salad

This is an excellent asian-inspired steak salad. If you aren’t that into salads but love steak, the marinade is great on its own! Feel free to get creative here, next time I think I want to add some homemade croutons or some of those fancy crunchies you see in some salads! This recipe makes me wonder why I don’t eat steak salad more often. Note to self…

adapted from The Pioneer Woman
serves 2 – 4

  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Sherry
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 2 teaspoons Brown Sugar
  • 2 whole Flat Iron, Rib-eye, Strip, Or Sirloin Steak
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil

  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons White Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 2 cloves Garlic, Finely Diced
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Ginger, Minced
  • 1/2 whole Jalapeno, Seeded And Diced

  • 2 whole Green Onions
  • 8 – 12 ounces mixed greens
  • feta or goat cheese, for sprinkling on top of salad
  • 1 – 2 cups cherry tomatoes, halved

Preparation Instructions

Combine steak marinade ingredients in a glass baking pan or tupperware that will fit all of the juicy meat. Mix and place steaks in. Marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes to overnight.

Combine salad dressing ingredients and slice green onion.

When steak is finished marinating, turn on the grill to medium heat. Grill steaks to your liking, remove from grill and let rest before slicing into strips.

Arrange salad greens, tomatoes, green onion, and cheese in a large bowl. You can dress the greens if you’d like, or let people self-serve on the dressing. I prefer to let people add as much steak as they want to their salad, plus it looks prettier that way! Enjoy.
